The Collector

A simple magenta stamp set the world record for stamps at Sotheby’s. It was the 1856 British Guiana One-Cent stamp, which sold for nearly $9.5 million in 2014. The obsessive human desire to collect rare, beautiful, or sentimental ephemera compelled me to design three new prints featuring postage and fanciful footwear from the collection of the Victoria & Albert Museum.
